Lesson Horses

Vivi
Velvet Teen or Vivi for short, is one of the most willing and gentle horses in the barn. She loves working in the arena, or going for a long walk on the trails, but her true gift is helping teach young kids how to ride. Vivi is extremely patient and safe with even the littlest of riders, and gives them the confidence they need to excel at riding in any discipline. We are so thankful to have Vivi in our program!

Sarah
Sarah Two Socks is a wonderful Quarter Horse mare. She has tons of miles showing the AQHA circuit, and is extremely well trained. We are so lucky to have such a talented horse in our barn. Her slow, collected movement makes her great at teaching the littlest of riders the basics, as well as teaching more advanced students the finesse of riding a well trained horse. Her favorite disciplines are western pleasure and trail.

Cricket
Good News Please, or Cricket, as she is known around the barn, is a gorgeous red roan paint mare. Cricket is a very tall girl, making her a great match for adult riders. However, she is known as the “gentle giant” around the barn, because she is wonderful and patient with even small children. Before she came to Flicka, Cricket was a high-level show horse, showing at both open shows and the APHA circuit. Her talents in western pleasure and huntseat make her a favorite of many riders, allowing them to finesse and advance their own riding skills. We are so lucky to have Cricket in our barn!

Honey
On Fire By Demand, nicknamed Honey, is a gorgeous palomino paint mare. She is often one of the chosen lesson horses because of her stunning color and her sweet attitude. Being retired from the APHA show world, Honey is calm and confident wherever she goes. She is a wonderful partner for teaching the finesse of huntseat equitation and western pleasure.

Ellie
Just Passing By, or Ellie, is a our wonderful Appaloosa mare. She has been a great addition to our program! She is very well trained and was previously a show horse, making her light and responsive to ride. She is very calm and great at teaching riders how to use subtle aids.

Petey
Prime Time Asset, or Petey as we call her, is a wonderful mare who retired from the AQHA show world. She is very level headed and gives her riders a lot of confidence, whether on the ground or in the saddle. She is easy going and has a wonderful work ethic.
